Hi, I am just about to embark on tracing my family tree and thought I would just do a quick search on the internet for my family name. As the name is not very common in England I was suprised when the initial search came up with some matches.

I'm searching for two poems. . .
#1 The War Prayer by Mark Twain
#2 One I heard as a child that ends "ten thousand Swedes ran through the weeds, chased by one Norwegan"
Any ideas?

Found your site very informative. We have a lot in common. Probably could add to some of your lines.
Is there a key to references? I see numbers after a name. Is that referring to a reference?
I was denied access for several weeks and I was afraid that that I would never get back on again. Happily, this morning I was able to get to your guestbook. Phil

do not want to tell
Greece
do not want to tell
do not have any
I think that paganism came from Greece and
in that religion satan was loved and his attendands.
The 5A star that is indeed known a satanic symbol why
is in many paganistic sites? do you have to do anything with satan?
I think that whenever someone starts to deal with magic and satan, he opens a door that maybe he can not close.
Why do we not see the Light and life that is Jesus Christ and we start search and occupied with darkness? Why dont we believe in our holy trinity the only God?
neopaganism has nowadays become a mixture of old believes with brand new wrapping.
Following is a wish from st. Basil the Great in Greeklish and in free translation....
....Kyrie tous peplanimenous epanagage sti mia sou agia katholiki kai apostoliki eklissia.......
The style of the site though is very good but the content (paganistic)
is poisonous for the souls of inoccent people they visit the site.
Bye from Greece.
Since this person declined to give me any way top respond to him directly, I will answer him here:
Some modern ideas and deities did indeed come to modern paganism from ancient Greece, "Satan", however, was never, and is not now, any part of any modern paganism that is Goddess based or balanced that I am aware of. Satanism, indeed, exists, but we are not them. I refer you to this book:
AUTHOR: Pagels, Elaine H., 1943-
TITLE: The origin of Satan /
EDITION: 1st ed.
PLACE: New York :
PUBLISHER: Random House,
YEAR: 1995
PUB TYPE: Book
FORMAT: xxiii, 214 p. ; 25 cm.
NOTES: Includes bibliographical references and index.
The gospel of Mark and the Jewish war -- The social history of
Satan : from the Hebrew Bible to the gospels -- Matthew's
campaign against the Pharisees : deploying the devil -- Luke and
John claim Israel's legacy : the split widens -- Satan's earthly
kingdom : Christians against pagans -- The enemy within :
demonizing the heretics.
Magic and knowledge are always dangerous things which one should approach only through a long, and thorough, education, much more effort than most people are EVER willing to put into their religion.
I am glad for you that you have found what your soul sought for. Some of us look other places for our Truth. Paganism is in NO way a walk through the Dark. We are VERY aware what Negativity is capable of, and we strive for balance in all things.
I DO wish you had provided a translation, Truth is what it is, no matters who utters it.
For "innocent", read "religious education deprived".

I love your site. I just read the poly page and the f*** up rules are particularly hilarious. I am a bit unsure about the "Always on my mind" music, though I love having music playing from my laptop as I browse through your information. I feel at home on the website and wonder why I haven't come in more often. Thank you for creating such a lovely, creative home on the web.
I hope to meet you sooner than later. My king stag and his lovely, talented wife.
Be well...

Hello Cousins!
George Taylor/Margaret ? are my great (7) grandparents; John Washington/Ann Pope are my great (9) grandparents. I am extremely appreciative for all your hard work in tracing these lines. The way you have presented the information is far easier to read than others I've seen, it's well documented and far more extensive.
Would you be willing to give or sell the disks of your work? I am comparatively new at genealogy, but I want to make a binder of my families' histories. It would save me much time, if I could just go through and delete what isn't my family and add those who aren't included. My work is for my family's use only; I'm not doing this for profit.
Thank you again for providing the information. I've spent three days going through your files and I have enjoyed every minute!
